Gujarat Titans skipper Shubman Gill has finally addressed all the chatter about his personal life that’s been doing the rounds. Speaking to Hollywood Reporter India, the young captain made it clear he’s not losing any sleep over the rumors, because, in his words, he knows the truth.
For those who aren’t up to speed, Gill has often found himself linked to Sachin Tendulkar’s daughter, Sara Tendulkar. And at one point, Bollywood actress Sara Ali Khan too. But Gill set the record straight. "I mean, I've been single for over three years, and so many speculations and rumors link me with different people. And sometimes, it's so ridiculous that I would have never even seen or met that person ever in my life," Gill shared. "I know I'm so focused on what I need to do in my professional career. There is no space in my life to be with someone. Like 300 days a year, we are on the road traveling somewhere. So there is hardly any time to be able to be with someone or invest the time needed for a relationship," he added.
Just recently, ahead of the IPL 2025 clash against KKR, former New Zealand cricketer and commentator Danny Morrison even jokingly quizzed Gill at the toss about his marriage plans, showing just how much the gossip has spilled onto the cricket field too.
But Gill, as cool as ever, doesn’t let any of the noise get to him — not even the crowd chants during matches. Speaking about how he handles it, Gill explained, “I’ve told this many times, but I don’t know, it’s like an automatic switch. I don’t think any batter can hear those chants. It’s hard for me to explain. But when you're in the zone, you can’t hear people chanting or anything. You are so focused on the job that is there for you to finish. You’re focused on the bowler, on the runs needed, the task at hand.”
As far as his cricket is concerned, Gill is having a solid season. Leading the Gujarat Titans in IPL 2025, he has guided them to the top of the table with 12 points. Up next, his side will take on Rajasthan Royals at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Monday, April 28.
