Virat Kohli added another milestone to his legendary career on Saturday night at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. During Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s clash against Chennai Super Kings, the former RCB skipper became the first-ever player to smash 300 sixes for a single franchise.
That massive number includes all sixes Kohli has hit for RCB across the IPL and the now-defunct Champions League T20. Having joined RCB way back in the inaugural season of 2008, Kohli is still going strong with the same franchise — the only player to do so in every edition of the IPL.
Next on the list? None other than Chris Gayle, who entertained RCB fans with 263 sixes during his seven-season stint from 2011. Third is Rohit Sharma, who has 262 sixes to his name for Mumbai Indians since joining them in the 2011 mega-auction.
Kohli’s record-breaking night didn’t end there. With his knock against CSK, he also claimed the record for the most sixes at a single venue in T20s — now boasting 154 sixes at the Chinnaswamy, going past Gayle's tally of 151 at the same ground.
Here’s a look at the top five for most sixes at a single T20 venue:
