Everton Considering a Move for Manchester City Legend Kyle Walker

Kyle Walker could be heading back to the Premier League — but not in Manchester City blue. The experienced right-back has popped up on Everton’s radar as one of four possible options the club is exploring to bolster their defense this summer.

Despite not making an official move yet, Everton boss David Moyes is reportedly very interested in bringing in the 35-year-old. Moyes is said to admire Walker’s experience and winning mentality — traits he believes could help the Toffees push on after a solid end to last season.

Walker spent the second half of last season on loan at AC Milan, but although he made a decent start in Italy, things didn’t quite pan out. Injuries disrupted his rhythm, and in the end, Milan decided not to activate their option to buy, which would’ve cost them around £4.2 million. With just a year left on his deal at City, Walker is unlikely to demand a hefty fee — if any at all. That makes him an attractive low-cost option for Everton, who are also weighing up moves for other right-backs. Free agents Kenny Tete, Vladimir Coufal, and Kyle Walker-Peters are also in the mix.

City have made it clear Walker is no longer part of their plans, and the player himself isn’t hiding the fact that his time at the Etihad is over. In a recent podcast episode, Walker opened up about his January move to Milan and revealed the emotional farewell he got from Pep Guardiola. “When you come to say goodbye, it’s hard,” Walker said. “After I said my goodbyes, Pep got up and spoke and said a really nice message to me, just saying thank you for everything.”

Walker’s time in Milan included 16 appearances — 11 of them starts — but he failed to register a goal or assist during his stint with the Rossoneri. Still, it was a valuable experience abroad for the veteran, even if it ended quietly.

Fenerbahce and Galatasaray have also shown interest, with José Mourinho’s Fener side reportedly monitoring the situation closely. However, Galatasaray appear to be prioritizing a move for Bayern Munich’s Sacha Boey at the moment.

Regardless of where he lands, one thing is certain — Kyle Walker has left a serious mark at City. With close to 320 appearances and a staggering 17 trophies to his name, including six Premier League titles and the Champions League, he’s been a huge part of their modern dominance. Now, as he looks for a fresh start in the twilight of his career, a Premier League return with Everton could be the next chapter in what has already been a remarkable journey.
